This post is about the movie Parched. #Indian #Bollywood #Hindi #movie #drama Parched is a woman's film told through the eyes of four different women who are struggling against their circumstances. They are all struggling to make it through one day, the next, and the next...But what is there to do when even survival seems like an an impossible task? All of these girls represent different social strata of society - One of them, Bijli (Radhika Apte) is not only low-caste but also impoverished with no family or support system. The second girl, Ruhi (Kareena Kapoor Khan) dreams of a better life beyond the incredibly conservative social rules and regulations. The third, Mandira (Dimple Kapadia) is a home maker who has no tangible means to provide food for her children. The last is Chanda (Sanya Malhotra), a young woman who was forced by circumstances to give up her career and become a single mother. These four women come together and help each other survive day-to-day challenges and overcome tough situations that life throws at them. Coming from different circuits of society, these women also have different perspectives on the world around them. Yet, there are some common observations that they share. For example, they see the men around them (except for Tannishtha Chatterjee's character) as patriarchal, hindering their progress and refusing to give women a chance to shine in the already male-dominated society. Although these women are different, Parched is actually not about differences; it is about how they overcome these differences to see eye-to-eye on many of the problems they face. The movie is also not merely about survival; it is also about relationships and friendships between women, how they support each other throughout their struggles with life. The film stays true to this section as well, showing how these four women bond together not only because of similar paths but also because of how they are seen by society. The movie is about friendship, about survival, and about the meaning of life. It talks about where we've come from and where we're headed. And that realization that once you realize what your life is worth to you, it becomes easier to live it to the fullest.Directed by Leena Yadav, Parched is produced by Anurag Kashyap and Aescent Films Pvt Ltd. Leena Yadav's debut movie is the third collaboration with Anurag Kashyap after his previous two movies, "Bombay Velvet" and "Udta Punjab". The music is by Vishal-Shekhar. The film was released on 12 January 2017. The film received positive reviews from critics. cfa1e77820
